Reasons to love your short hair ! :) #MondayMadness

Oh Hello there !

I hope all of you are having a blast !

I am sure you are here because of one of the following reasons:

1. You cut your super long beautiful hair- "short" and you are softly dying inside, somewhere.

2. You are confused about loving  or hating your short hair.

3. You hate short hair and have come here to virtually disagree.

4. You are my healthy stalker !

So ! I am here to write a quick post on how cutting your hair short is actually not that a big deal and how you should totally love it instead of sulking like 60% of the women right now,in the world.

I have seen so many girls cribbing and crying inside salons and after getting out if it. Bro, you want a hair cut and don't want your hair, cut? errr? It is funny and weird and I fail to understand what depresses you guys so much?
I do understand what it is like to go from Rapunzel to Popeye's girlfriend, Olive. - been there, done that. But trust me, it is not as depressing as a few people make it.

Let me start with rupturing a few myths about short hair.

1. Short hair Isn't sexy. Not.

*screams*. NO. FALSE. If you think long wavy curls are the only thing that throws an impression at the opposite humans, you have petty knowledge about the fashion universe and you deserve to  sulk. (huh). I think short hair are equally (and sometimes even more) sexier than long hair. The logic is simple. It is not common. It spells out confidence. It always helps to keep a longer impression. It is hard to ignore. It's totally fun !

2. You can't do much with shorter hair.

Ever watched Tumblr or youtube bro?.. People are coming up with a new hairstyle for short/medium short hair almost every second day !. You might not be able to make those over complicated, tiring, time consuming hairstyles, but who really needs that today? and Oh. more than that, who seriously has that kinda time? :/

3. It makes you look cheap/bold/ spoilt -bratish/not lady like/ unsophisticated:

Seriously, STFU.

4. Not maintainable:

What? Short/ short medium hair are the most well styled, maintainable hair ever! It is seriously not that big a task to set up your hair everyday. It is super fun and easy going. Oh Oh and, your expensive hair products last you 1 month,  It lasts us 3 months. We win. You lose. Bye.

So basically guys, love your short hair. Break through the stringent fashion norms. Remember, we make it, we can break it.
Go for a change, refresh your style. See the change in your personality. Add some excitement in life and learn to take risks. Be experimental, this is the time! Love your long hair, short hair or super short hair- just go ahead and make some changes.
This little change will change your mood in seconds- from good to great !

Share pictures with me on my facebook page and we shall feature the bold you !

See you super sooooon !

Collaboration Special "The Make-up Diaries"

Hi All !

Hope the week's going awesome!

I am super excited and happy today. I am finally collaborating with my closest friend and presenting to you all the "MAKE-UP DIARIES" by Simar Pannu. She has thankfully decided to collaborate with Spangle Street and expand my blog *tightest hug* :*

I have been getting innumerable requests for make up do's and don't's so I thought of it and decided to get you some expert's advise tout de suite ! Brace yourself for some super easy yet handy make up tricks you can follow with #nodrama as I say.
Get your makeup weapons ready and let's get started.

Ladies, the First expert makeup report is here :)
"HOW TO ROCK THE EVERYDAY MAKEUP" Lipstick special.

Keeping lips in top condition requires dedication, and I turn to my trusted list of products below to get my lips in swatch-worthy shape.   Healthy lips are just as important as a healthy complexion, and is much easier to achieve than flawless skin.   If you have a habit of forgetting to look after your lips, keep lip balms within reach in several places (eg. bedside table, makeup table, purse, work drawer etc) so you’ll never be caught without one.

"The most important thing before you step out and start your day with that bright pop of colour on your lips is prepping them for the day, which will ironically start the previous night. I usually scrub my lips with a Kiehls exfoliator or simple enough - a toothbrush! And then apply a anti-aging/wrinkle filler cream (again, has to be Kiehls) and top it up with a lip balm. My go-to balms would include EOS which is so amazing and keeps the moisture locked in. The others that follow are Vaseline jelly, baby lips and Nivea.

The same routine to be followed every morning. Now, we all need to discover that one shade - be it Browns or pinks - that we want to apply every morning for the usual routine day. My everyday lipstick would be the MAC Please me (I would recommend it for medium to fair skin tones, more like cool yellow undertones). It's superb pink colour, matte but not too drying - my all time favourite. The routine is pretty simple after you've discovered your magic everyday lip colour. After prepping your lips, apply your lip liner to shape your lips and then fill in the liner with a soft hand. What this does is that it lets your lip colour stay in place for a couple of hours and the lipstick doesn't look like it's cracked in the middle.

I've used MAC hip n happy liner(it was probably a limited edition) to outline my lips and fill in a little before I apply Please me. If you can't seem to find that liner, there are plenty nude pink liners in the market that you could match with Please me. And well, we're pretty much done there. If you feel like it's a gloss kinda day then add a touch of Just Superb lip gloss by MAC and here you are, ready to rock the day with those beautiful nude pink lips (actually not that nude lol) but a very classy neutral pink!"

Regards,

Simar Pannu

Shopping in your 20's #Weekenddrama

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

How are you guys doing!?
Its weekend again and your gleaming eyes are telling me how excited you are to sleep/party/shop/work/do laundry.etc.

I am here to write down a quick post on something that crosses my mind every now and then: The guilt of shopping. Remember when was the last time your super happy heart got covered with a rope of choking guilt as soon as you bought something hefty? Yes. Everyday.

Now let's cut down the drama. Who doesn't wish to run like a maniac, picking up clothes, ignoring the price tags, not giving time to your beautified brains to think, swiping credit cards faster than you blink? We all do. And all of you enjoying that life, yay!..

But then there are these women. Like you. Like me. Who have been taught to earn before you burn and slap yourself with life before life punches you in the face, putting on your ego jacket and not burning pockets of the men in your life. Sad,but true.

So you are not very happy with your condition but you refuse to budge from your situation. You want to work, make a name, earn and vomit it out on your favorite brands. So here we are girls, feel free to fit yourself in any of these situations:

1. Just out of college, so too many changes to handle.

You are out of college, party is officially over. You land up in a job where you still figuring whether you fit in or not. The monthly pocket money by dad has stopped. It is time to burn the t-shirt that says " My dad is my ATM" and you suddenly love sleep, formal clothes, salads and alarm clocks. So you land up in office. You work. You wait for the salary, ticking all 29 days in your calender, browsing through all possible websites to order stuff- and then the salary arrives and gives you a happiness attack. You finally decide to shop. BUT, do you?

2. Where is the time?.. Where is the TIMEEE!?

So salary in your account, favorite dress ironed, shopping date fixed. The Sunday is here. You put an alarm because now you are just too used to it and you think you might never wake up if the alarm doesn't ring (soul sister?) You do the self motivating talks for good 10 mins in your bed and try to convince yourself to get out and do some awesome shopping. But you wake up, your boss wishing you good morning with 3 things to do on urgent basis( because everything is urgent in all the offices), and you see a pile of clothes screaming to be cleaned and a wardrobe you fail to recognize. So you postpone the shopping to evening and you decide to get organized for the rest of the week. By the time you finish, you are tired and you want good pizza, TV and your bed. ONLY.

3. Too much to choose from.

I am not sure about others, but I mostly never end up buying what i decide on. Once you have your money, you get choosy. Super choosy, just like you, once, chose guys in college. "Pretty and branded is ok, but I think I need more durable stuff." HAHA. You often make wiser decisions because you pick up one or two things and you do a proper dialysis of each product. You are tired and sick of the store but you pick up stuff you love and need. So there is no regret, only happy feelings.

4. Guilt trip.

Most of my friends/family reading this will be like " yes!!, now this is applicable to this girl". I do careful shopping most of the times. But not always. You don't want to stress yourself out every time. After all its shopping and it should make you happy. But yes, I often pick up a lot of stuff without thinking which makes me super duper happy and then....the guilt trip. You check your balance and you are not very happy because if you saved yourself from buying this trash, you could have bought better stuff later. I am extremely bad at saving, but I am learning. *guilt stare to self*.

5. Not every thing is about shoes, clothes and cosmetics.

Yes. arrgggh.. When you have to self-spank yourself for checking up on your expenses, you will realize this. You don't only have to cater for clothes, shoes etc., you have cater for wine, good food, gadgets, parties, treats, gifts for family and all thaaat. So when next time you pick up 5 dresses when you need only one, remember you are going to get broke taking care of these silent money vanishers.

I hope this post was relatable. In the end, I would say, even though its a tough life out there, we do so much for the sake of shopping and keeping ourselves happy, it is the best and the most satisfactory way ever. At least when you look back, you smile and feel proud of yourself and isn't that the most important thing?

P.S. Zara has amazing jackets on special price right now. EEEEE.

See you guys sooon!

Thirsty Fashion : A Fashion and Food report.

Hola !

How is the weekend drama coming along, you guys!

I am not sure when I mentioned this, but I am here to remind myself and you all that I did want to slowly widen Spangle Street's scope and connect with more topics of my personal interest. Saying that, I would quickly but from the most honest corner of my heart,  thank all those who love Spangle Street and have made us your secret friend. As I said before, we are not here to compete in the fashion race. We are here whenever you want to relax and step away from all the drama going around you. To connect with your souls, to encourage you, make you smile, make you happy and basically just chilling the fig down.

Today I am wearing a very special owl-struck cropper with my lace jeggings. It is very chic, different and super flowy -Let's accept it, sometimes we do need a super cool tee in life. So here's the look you need along with the drinks mentioned below.

Also, now my favorite part of the post-The latest no-fuss drinks I love and would want you  to try as well. They are super easy. Super yummy.

1. Slushie

Nothing new but still very refreshing, Slushie is basically a non-alcoholic drink which is made of small ice crystals with a variety of fruity syrups. This is perhaps the easiest of all. I don't even need to explain how this should be made. But still, lots of clear ice crystals, your favorite syrup (I've even mixed 2-3 flavors which was super yum) and 10 mins to sit back and enjoy, is all you need.

2. Appletini

This comes out from the group of famous 'tini' sisters of the alcohol universe. It is a cocktail consisting of vodka and specifically apple juice with apple cider, apple brandy or apple liqueur and even vermouth. One of the best drinks you can serve when you have the much-needed all girls party. It is a fashion drink, no
doubt.

3. Minted Mocha Fusion

Thanks to the Nestle website for generously sharing some nice coffee recipes with us. I am a fussy foodie so I don't like to try out every food/drink that sounds fancy. Therefore I have chose my favorite ones for you to try. Feel free to go to their website and check out more cool stuff. This drink takes 5 minutes to be prepared and 5 minutes to cook. You need 2 cups Rich Chocolate Flavor NESTLE CARNATION Hot Cocoa Mix, 10 stick packs NESCAFE TASTER’S CHOICE 100% Colombian Pure Instant Coffee Granules, 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.
Simply PLACE cocoa mix, coffee granules and peppermint extract in food processor or blender; cover. Process until ingredients are combined. Store in airtight container. The fusion is ready. To make one cup, add 3 3 tablespoons Minted Mocha Fusion in mug; stir in 1 cup hot milk or water and serve with a smiling face ! :)

Now Now Now, there are trillions of recipes online. These are just my favorite 3 right now (my favorites change faster than you blink.)

We will come forward with lots n lots of cool stuff for you guys
until then
Happy Weekend, boys and girls !

Weekend drama - 5 reasons to Love music!

Hi guys ! ..

Hope you all are having fun and the week is going great.
It is weekend, so I really wanted to write about something very quickly.
While wondering what are the things I love (I am going to do a post on that very soon), I knew the answer before the question was complete in my mind. Music!

Yes, this is probably one of the most important things in my life and I am sure a majority of you agree with it. I love music and being brought up in a family of music lovers, I virtually have grown up listening to all possible songs and the then- famous favorite singers of my family and eventually took over with making my own playlists over the years. So basically I stay where music plays in the background, no matter where you are or what you do.

I think there is something very appealing about people who are into music. So here I am here with my next lifestyle report on - 5 Reasons to Love Music!

1. Another word for unlax.

Music relaxes your mind and there is no other notion to it. It is a definite mood booster. Good music will always take you on a thought journey and deviate you from your current issues, even if its for a while. And sometimes this little deviation is all that you need to keep going. Try this if you haven't (really, you haven't?)- Wake up to great music and the rest of your day is sorted. (for good). So let the hormones dance in peace and see your mood changing.

2. Not one or two - Countless Genres to choose from.

I might claim to come from a family/social circle of music lovers, but I still wouldn't know ALL the genres, I'm sure. This is not a new fact and we all know that music floats into number of styles. I would say each style is unique and gives you a different feel. I wish to hear all the great songs made somewhere in some corner of the world before I die. It is like visiting all the places before I die. Ok, bucket list addition no. 23917..something lakhs.

3. Music is for everyone.

Every person can relate to at least one song they have ever liked/heard. Obviously that is because people express their thoughts and make music and somewhere someone relates to it. It connects us all in a very soothing way. I have every song for every major phase in my life and the list is very huge. :P

4. And, for every occasion.

Why we always connect to movies instantly is because music plays a major role in them. Now I don't want to go back or front to the shit-lyrical music some non deserving people make, I am talking sensible, catchy, distinctive, brilliant music. All big events like weddings and heart throbbing- ear drum cracking clubs literally live on great music. Without music, you know how it is. Also, we do have heart touching mellow music for our heart and eye wash, once in a while. What? You don't have a 'break up playlist'? (bleh)

5. Increases your understanding.

This didn't really come to my mind directly. I was talking to a very dear musician friend of mine and asked him what it is like to be a giver of music rather than a listener. He said music means much more to musicians than it means to anyone else. It makes them think better, understand life situations better. That's because they connect extremely closely to what a song says. Most of the songs also draw a lot of similarity from the real life situations. And because its music, you always grasp it better. I can't believe we still don't have musical-academics. We would have been brilliant. Seriously.

Hope you guys liked this and before going it is My duty to introduce you to this very sexy new EP by Frank. It is called "ALMOST HOME" Annnddd Children under 14 years not allowed ;) The music is great, the feel is great and well, we Love it!

Stay tuned. Stay happy !

Popped from the past- CROP TOPS !

You know what's the best thing about life? No matter how many self-assuring rules all of us make, there will always be a feeling, an opportunity,an idea, a sudden rush of hope , a gleaming dream that all of us at some point or the other can breakthrough these stringent rules, fixed notions (often false) and fly high doing our very own thing.

Now why I stressed so much on that is because all this philosophy beautifully habituates in the Fashion universe as well. We,the fashion artists, draw a story line of everything that we want to project. It is an art. It describes something, often our moods, and that's the whole point!

Running on those lines I decided to write about our freshly cooked obsession for CROP tops. A perfect yet instant solution to get ready as a sure shot head turner with this one statement piece of cloth. How to nail this look is exactly why I am here for. Come on girls (and boys,no bar) and check out how we do the cropeees !

I'd wear it with :-

1) A Skirt. - Yes. You might have seen crops on skirts the most. This combination is unchallenged for a long time now. But just like crops have emerged from the past and defined themselves all over again, how to wear it with various types of skirts will refresh your minds! You can wear it with a pencil skirt, miniskirt, full skirt, A-line, pleated etc. I think the ''One Drama-One Dainty'' concept is what should be kept in mind while you choose to wear such an outfit. (Don't google, this is a self made term ;) ) By One 'Drama-One Dainty' I mean that you could pick up a heavily embroidered statement crop and pair it with a full skirt/pencil skirt which is bright colored or subdued- but plain/light textured or simply turn it upside down. There are no limits. It is fashion art, remember?!

2) A Pair of shorts- Another way of adorning a crop top is with a sexy pair of shorts. Be it sequined, neons, sporty ,rugged denims or lacey- Crops can nearly go with all and that is why we love them!

3) The Denims - A cropee worn with a pair of denims, say washed out, boyfriend fit or curvaceous are my favorite look. It is snug as a bug in a rug and also utterly attractive.

These are just a few ways (i'd say few because fashion has no boundaries, and I have been preaching that-ever since ! ) in which you could easily carry a crop top. It exhibits boldness, confidence and fun-on-the-fashion-run kind of attitude and what else do you need?

I am not sure if the below pictures resemble me :P excuse me due to lack of time. But thank pinterest and fellow fashion saints!

These are some of my favorite looks :

Make up to me, sweety.

GIGAAANNNTIC HELLO !

How are you guys doing!
I hate to stand up in this position because I have only one reason to vanish like that every now and then and that's - WORK! *guilt-face*
Anyway, I hope you guys are having fun and enjoying this lovely weather. Right now I am completely tight-scheduled so I thought of writing a quick post because I needed some unwinding, majorly. Lots n Lots of stuff is up and I am going to take exactly one Sunday to spill it all out for you guys. So, wait for it!

This quick fashion throw-up is completely inspired by a situation almost all working women face. (atleast the cool ones). You have to work because you love it. You have to shop because well, you have to and you have to party because ultimately that's what it all comes down to. Even though it sounds super fancy, but a day in office mostly end up into groggy evenings (and that's a huge screaming yes I just heard from you guys!) But a lot of women today have learnt to blend their lives perfectly. Work hard and party harder is the ultimate anthem and women are doing it just right.

When you reach a certain age, you guys will realize how pre -party workout of a girl changes to that of a woman. Its not always club music in your room with 100 dresses to choose from, a bucket full of lipsticks to apply or fashion magical guns (hair dryers and straighteners) to use on your hair or that super furry rug you jump on imagining yourself to be the wild Rihanna waiting to get barge out. I hate to break this to you, but once you are a working woman- Boom! It is not even close to this!

So what to do? Do you stop getting out? No!.. Infact, most of the women experience some of the greatest social evenings when they are in their working phase. So it all comes down to one point- How to look great (even if it's not greatest) just after you get out work and head straight towards an evening out. Long ago, I did a post on how to get out of office and enter straight into a party by changing just one piece of clothing. Today I am here to show you how to fix up your face quickly- like, really quickly.

You hate to even talk when you have had a hectic day at office but you cannot curb your excitement when a friend calls to catch up . Therefore, I would recommend to keep it simple yet attractive. Just do your slight foundation routine once again after you wipe up your face with a fresh energizing tissue. Keep it light because you do not want to start from ground zero when you are getting late. Concentrate on your eyes as the 'oh dear I am dead-walking' -look hits them first. Apply suitable coats of kohl and mascara. Take a shadow stylist and put on that extra glitter just to make your eyes twinkle. I would go with a super bold lipstick or a nude/peach one- wholly depending upon my mind and energy left. Back comb your hair for instant bounce or simply tie up into a confident bun. Grab accessories of your choice. Put on your favorite perfume and you are ready to go !

Hope you guys liked this.
I am coming soon with loads of stuff
Here's to the good busy life.
Stay happy, pretties!
xx
