Collaboration Special "The Make-up Diaries"

Hi All !

Hope the week's going awesome!

I am super excited and happy today. I am finally collaborating with my closest friend and presenting to you all the "MAKE-UP DIARIES" by Simar Pannu. She has thankfully decided to collaborate with Spangle Street and expand my blog *tightest hug* :*

I have been getting innumerable requests for make up do's and don't's so I thought of it and decided to get you some expert's advise tout de suite ! Brace yourself for some super easy yet handy make up tricks you can follow with #nodrama as I say.
Get your makeup weapons ready and let's get started.

Ladies, the First expert makeup report is here :)
"HOW TO ROCK THE EVERYDAY MAKEUP" Lipstick special.

Keeping lips in top condition requires dedication, and I turn to my trusted list of products below to get my lips in swatch-worthy shape.   Healthy lips are just as important as a healthy complexion, and is much easier to achieve than flawless skin.   If you have a habit of forgetting to look after your lips, keep lip balms within reach in several places (eg. bedside table, makeup table, purse, work drawer etc) so you’ll never be caught without one.

"The most important thing before you step out and start your day with that bright pop of colour on your lips is prepping them for the day, which will ironically start the previous night. I usually scrub my lips with a Kiehls exfoliator or simple enough - a toothbrush! And then apply a anti-aging/wrinkle filler cream (again, has to be Kiehls) and top it up with a lip balm. My go-to balms would include EOS which is so amazing and keeps the moisture locked in. The others that follow are Vaseline jelly, baby lips and Nivea.

The same routine to be followed every morning. Now, we all need to discover that one shade - be it Browns or pinks - that we want to apply every morning for the usual routine day. My everyday lipstick would be the MAC Please me (I would recommend it for medium to fair skin tones, more like cool yellow undertones). It's superb pink colour, matte but not too drying - my all time favourite. The routine is pretty simple after you've discovered your magic everyday lip colour. After prepping your lips, apply your lip liner to shape your lips and then fill in the liner with a soft hand. What this does is that it lets your lip colour stay in place for a couple of hours and the lipstick doesn't look like it's cracked in the middle.

I've used MAC hip n happy liner(it was probably a limited edition) to outline my lips and fill in a little before I apply Please me. If you can't seem to find that liner, there are plenty nude pink liners in the market that you could match with Please me. And well, we're pretty much done there. If you feel like it's a gloss kinda day then add a touch of Just Superb lip gloss by MAC and here you are, ready to rock the day with those beautiful nude pink lips (actually not that nude lol) but a very classy neutral pink!"

Regards,

Simar Pannu

Shopping in your 20's #Weekenddrama

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

How are you guys doing!?
Its weekend again and your gleaming eyes are telling me how excited you are to sleep/party/shop/work/do laundry.etc.

I am here to write down a quick post on something that crosses my mind every now and then: The guilt of shopping. Remember when was the last time your super happy heart got covered with a rope of choking guilt as soon as you bought something hefty? Yes. Everyday.

Now let's cut down the drama. Who doesn't wish to run like a maniac, picking up clothes, ignoring the price tags, not giving time to your beautified brains to think, swiping credit cards faster than you blink? We all do. And all of you enjoying that life, yay!..

But then there are these women. Like you. Like me. Who have been taught to earn before you burn and slap yourself with life before life punches you in the face, putting on your ego jacket and not burning pockets of the men in your life. Sad,but true.

So you are not very happy with your condition but you refuse to budge from your situation. You want to work, make a name, earn and vomit it out on your favorite brands. So here we are girls, feel free to fit yourself in any of these situations:

1. Just out of college, so too many changes to handle.

You are out of college, party is officially over. You land up in a job where you still figuring whether you fit in or not. The monthly pocket money by dad has stopped. It is time to burn the t-shirt that says " My dad is my ATM" and you suddenly love sleep, formal clothes, salads and alarm clocks. So you land up in office. You work. You wait for the salary, ticking all 29 days in your calender, browsing through all possible websites to order stuff- and then the salary arrives and gives you a happiness attack. You finally decide to shop. BUT, do you?

2. Where is the time?.. Where is the TIMEEE!?

So salary in your account, favorite dress ironed, shopping date fixed. The Sunday is here. You put an alarm because now you are just too used to it and you think you might never wake up if the alarm doesn't ring (soul sister?) You do the self motivating talks for good 10 mins in your bed and try to convince yourself to get out and do some awesome shopping. But you wake up, your boss wishing you good morning with 3 things to do on urgent basis( because everything is urgent in all the offices), and you see a pile of clothes screaming to be cleaned and a wardrobe you fail to recognize. So you postpone the shopping to evening and you decide to get organized for the rest of the week. By the time you finish, you are tired and you want good pizza, TV and your bed. ONLY.

3. Too much to choose from.

I am not sure about others, but I mostly never end up buying what i decide on. Once you have your money, you get choosy. Super choosy, just like you, once, chose guys in college. "Pretty and branded is ok, but I think I need more durable stuff." HAHA. You often make wiser decisions because you pick up one or two things and you do a proper dialysis of each product. You are tired and sick of the store but you pick up stuff you love and need. So there is no regret, only happy feelings.

4. Guilt trip.

Most of my friends/family reading this will be like " yes!!, now this is applicable to this girl". I do careful shopping most of the times. But not always. You don't want to stress yourself out every time. After all its shopping and it should make you happy. But yes, I often pick up a lot of stuff without thinking which makes me super duper happy and then....the guilt trip. You check your balance and you are not very happy because if you saved yourself from buying this trash, you could have bought better stuff later. I am extremely bad at saving, but I am learning. *guilt stare to self*.

5. Not every thing is about shoes, clothes and cosmetics.

Yes. arrgggh.. When you have to self-spank yourself for checking up on your expenses, you will realize this. You don't only have to cater for clothes, shoes etc., you have cater for wine, good food, gadgets, parties, treats, gifts for family and all thaaat. So when next time you pick up 5 dresses when you need only one, remember you are going to get broke taking care of these silent money vanishers.

I hope this post was relatable. In the end, I would say, even though its a tough life out there, we do so much for the sake of shopping and keeping ourselves happy, it is the best and the most satisfactory way ever. At least when you look back, you smile and feel proud of yourself and isn't that the most important thing?

P.S. Zara has amazing jackets on special price right now. EEEEE.

See you guys sooon!

Thirsty Fashion : A Fashion and Food report.

Hola !

How is the weekend drama coming along, you guys!

I am not sure when I mentioned this, but I am here to remind myself and you all that I did want to slowly widen Spangle Street's scope and connect with more topics of my personal interest. Saying that, I would quickly but from the most honest corner of my heart,  thank all those who love Spangle Street and have made us your secret friend. As I said before, we are not here to compete in the fashion race. We are here whenever you want to relax and step away from all the drama going around you. To connect with your souls, to encourage you, make you smile, make you happy and basically just chilling the fig down.

Today I am wearing a very special owl-struck cropper with my lace jeggings. It is very chic, different and super flowy -Let's accept it, sometimes we do need a super cool tee in life. So here's the look you need along with the drinks mentioned below.

Also, now my favorite part of the post-The latest no-fuss drinks I love and would want you  to try as well. They are super easy. Super yummy.

1. Slushie

Nothing new but still very refreshing, Slushie is basically a non-alcoholic drink which is made of small ice crystals with a variety of fruity syrups. This is perhaps the easiest of all. I don't even need to explain how this should be made. But still, lots of clear ice crystals, your favorite syrup (I've even mixed 2-3 flavors which was super yum) and 10 mins to sit back and enjoy, is all you need.

2. Appletini

This comes out from the group of famous 'tini' sisters of the alcohol universe. It is a cocktail consisting of vodka and specifically apple juice with apple cider, apple brandy or apple liqueur and even vermouth. One of the best drinks you can serve when you have the much-needed all girls party. It is a fashion drink, no
doubt.

3. Minted Mocha Fusion

Thanks to the Nestle website for generously sharing some nice coffee recipes with us. I am a fussy foodie so I don't like to try out every food/drink that sounds fancy. Therefore I have chose my favorite ones for you to try. Feel free to go to their website and check out more cool stuff. This drink takes 5 minutes to be prepared and 5 minutes to cook. You need 2 cups Rich Chocolate Flavor NESTLE CARNATION Hot Cocoa Mix, 10 stick packs NESCAFE TASTER’S CHOICE 100% Colombian Pure Instant Coffee Granules, 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.
Simply PLACE cocoa mix, coffee granules and peppermint extract in food processor or blender; cover. Process until ingredients are combined. Store in airtight container. The fusion is ready. To make one cup, add 3 3 tablespoons Minted Mocha Fusion in mug; stir in 1 cup hot milk or water and serve with a smiling face ! :)

Now Now Now, there are trillions of recipes online. These are just my favorite 3 right now (my favorites change faster than you blink.)

We will come forward with lots n lots of cool stuff for you guys
until then
Happy Weekend, boys and girls !
xx
